Recruit Fastpitch Teams

My name is Jay Martin. I am the Softball Director for AJ Sports and Recruit Fastpitch. I have played in every facet of baseball up to JUCO at Macomb Community College where I was a Catcher, 1B, 3B, and Pitcher. After college, I started Assistant Coaching with my High School (Hazel Park High) as a Hitting and Catching Coach. I started Young Guns Softball/Baseball Training about 5+ years ago. I have been a private instructor for 10+ years and a softball/baseball coach for about 15+ years. I am currently the Varsity Softball Head Coach for Rochester High School. I look forward to working with all our teams and making sure the girls get the best softball experience possible.

  Hi! My name is Peyton Swenson, and I’m currently a trainer for Young Guns softball/baseball training, and an assistant coach for Rochester High School softball. A little bit more about me, I played softball for 14 years, and caught for 13 of those! I’ve also played Third, First and Outfield. Softball has been a passion of mine from a young age, and I’ve been trained by some of the best in Michigan. I have also played on travel teams like Motor City Hitdogs, Michigan Batbusters, and ICE Fastpitch. I have a ton of experience that I want to pass on to the next generation of softball players. I am very excited to head up 12U Recruit Fastpitch and look forward to helping develop the girl’s overall game, and of course having fun!

My name is coach Tim, I've been coaching softball for over 10 years that includes travel ball. Also going on my 6th year of High school ball. I coached 4 years at Berkley High, playing in 3 district title games. Winning 2 in a row! Currently going into my second year at Rochester High. 

I really pride myself on being a student of the game. Knowing all aspects of the game and staying current on training techniques both hitting and fielding. Doing my best to help my girls become the best players they possibly can. I look forward to working with Recruit Fastpitch and cant wait to get started!

Coach Casey has been coaching baseball/softball for 12 years both at the recreation and travel levels. He previously coached six years for the Royal Oak Nationals Baseball team before transitioning to coaching softball. He coached that team through their senior years of high school, so he understands how to prepare young athletes for the Varsity and Collegiate levels. In addition to softball, Coach Casey also is a head basketball coach at Troy Athens High School. Regardless of the sport, Coach Casey brings passion and enthusiasm to every practice and game. He encourages his players to never lose the joy of playing the game and to find the fun in working hard and developing as a player. Coach Casey focuses on skill development and player growth, encouraging an attitude of getting "1% better" every time you take the field. Coach Casey also excels at communication with both his players and parents. As a parent himself, he understands how difficult it can be to manage family schedules and support your child when you don’t understand their role on the team. Coach Casey will ensure communication flows and each player will understand and realize their full value to the team.
